I've been trying all the brands of underwear. The tab type leaked...really leaked. I have just heard of reusable...washable...but they don't seem to be very strong...mom has been incontinent for years. It gets expensive. She also isn't aware of when she needs to change or even use the bathroom. She's gotten so weak that she has to have help which is very scarce...wish I could move her but I don't have that power...my sister is POA.

Hum, interesting. I don't think so. but it could depend. What type of disposable do you mean. Disposable As in a full underwear or a pad type? If it's a pad type. I don't see why you couldn't. It'll just be really bulky in the center and that might be uncomfortable for the person wearing it. I have both but don't use them together. My dad's case, so far is mild. Just front. We tried the washable, which acts like a regular underwear with padding in the center from front to back, but somehow it leaked. So we are using disposables. "Shields" covers front of underwear, problem is that sometimes the sticky part sticks to him, which causes discomfort. So I'm thinking of trying the other one again to find out why it leaked. It's meant to hold moderate to a full blown pee. I guess there's really no rules here. Just what works and feels comfortable. Right? Please post a follow up on your choice.

I've been using disposable and just looking at washable. Found some that didn't just hold a pad. I use so much baking soda, vinegar and odoban I'm not sure it's worth the price for the washable. Wondering how they held up. My aunt just wrote that they used to make pull ups from old t shirts, etc.

Do not reuse pull ups. All you need is the disposable and check it every 2 hours.
