I know we all talk about how important self care is, but the words are a bit intangible and probably means something different to each of us.

I know thinking about the good things can help offset some of the stress of our daily lives so keeping a gratitude list isn't a bad idea.

So please share the good stuff and what small things you've managed to do for yourself today.

I'm grateful for:
-my kids, they've been so great and supportive through these difficult days
-new foster dog, an angelic senior chihuahua
-the pretty flowers in my garden

Small pleasures:
I managed to go for a 1/2 hour walk this morning which is rare, but it felt so wonderful to be outside listening to music and not tending to anyone.
Mmm, unfortunately, that might be the only thing for myself today. It's been a tough one.

My self help involves Ellie my 2 year old rescue German Shepherd. We get a 90 minute walk almost every day. I also use a language app and and study about 45 minutes of French. It helps.

Without my dogs I would be lost. I just took in a foster chi-mix (10+ years old) and she's my therapy dog. Never had a chi before but this sweet thing is completely in tune with me.
Which language app do you use? I tried Drops recently, but turned it off because it was nagging me to study too often. :)

Haven't been good at taking care of myself lately. This helps me to see that if others can do it, so can I. Thank you for your encouraging posts.

Hi. I use Duolingo. It’s free. But I paid a subscription fee a few months ago to skip the ads. It’s really easy and fun.

Finally finished all my deck containers with annuals. I love gardening. Since my hip replacement I really can’t get down and dirty in the garden anymore so I focus on containers.

Now when I look out the window (which is frequently) as I love bird watching too, my deck has about 10 different containers with lovely bright petunias, geraniums, lobelia, etc. I am hoping to attract hummingbirds.

This I love. And I found a new annual this year - a Fushcia colored salvia - that I am trying out to see how it performs.

I love deadheading the blooms and seeing them grow large. I have been blessed with a green thumb. Thank you, Lord, for that.

Shane1124, it's really a little magical how calming it can be to look at some flowers and birds. Where I life it is often too hot to be outside in the garden, but just gazing out the window is good enough.
I've only ever seen purple salvia, fushcia must be beautiful. I hope it works out in your garden. It's supposed to be an annual, but my returns each year.
